Politics is a set of activities associated with the governance of a country or an area. It involves making decisions that apply to group of members. I would have realized that technology is an accessible field at a younger age. I really got interested in technology when I took a role on President Obama’s Technology, Innovation, and Government Reform transition team in 2008 to make recommendations.

Dr. Ertas has many years of experience in teaching transdisciplinary design courses. He is the author or co-author of over 190 technical papers that cover many engineering technical fields. He is the author of many research and textbooks on interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary studies. DR. Utku Gulbulak, PhD, received his BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Middle East Technical University, Turkey in 2014 and his PhD in Mechanical Engineering at Texas Tech University in 2020. His primary research interest is the parametric design of artificial heart valves using multiphysics modeling and machine learning. His secondary research interest is the impact of transdisciplinary education on the engineering discipline. Introduction to Transdisciplinarity Tools and Applications (Case Studies) Transdisciplinary tools have been applied in many fields including: product development, project management, many engineering disciplines, design of organization, sustainable development, social issues, environmental issues, and others across many industries including automotive, aerospace, telecom, semiconductor, defense, transportation, energy, healthcare, agriculture, and more – Well-known TD tools such as TRIZ, ISM, DSM and AD addressing unstructured problem solving in a wide range of domains will be presented.
