We were very happy to have many known researchers from transdisciplinarity community as plenary session speakers such as Dr. Basarab Nicolescu, Dr. Julie Thompson Klein and Dr. Christian Pohl and many others. May be for the first time, this conference brought researchers from social science, natural science, humanities and engineering to discuss and understand the complex issues related to development of global sustainable societies.
Red McCombs, a world-class entrepreneur, was the Keynote speaker of the conference and gave an excellent talk. He showed clearly his insight on leadership and management. Red McCombs is a transdisciplinary thinker who has diverse professional experiences in business that spans a broad spectrum, including the automotive industry, communications, sports industry, real estate development, exploration of oil and gas and finally various insurance companies.
Lunceon Speaker Lily Yeh’s, (Founding Director and Lead Artist Barefoot Artists, Inc.) talk on creating compassionate and sustainable community through Art was commendable. Several special events took place at the conference. Dr. Basarab Nicolescu, Dr. Julie Thompson Klein, Dr. Christian Pohl, Dr. J. Tsia and Margo Dover received the Ramamoorthy & Yeh Transdisciplinary Distinguished Achievement Award. Red McCombs and Lily Yeh received the Academy Gold Medal of Honor Award. Looking back to on this year’s T3 Conference, we feel that its success was due very largely to the consistent excellence, as well as the variety, of the program. This meeting was one of our most enjoyable conference experiences. We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to all the participants for their contribution to make the conference successful.
